National Grant is easy as pie for Central Coast food basin
It’s a $2.23 billion industry and employs almost 20,000 locals; now, the Central Coasts’ food sector has been awarded one of four national grants through the newly-launched Central Coast Food Alliance (CCFA).
In collaboration with staff from the School of Environmental & Life Science (SELS), CCFA is one of only four clusters out of 32 submissions across Australia to be funded through Food Innovation Australia Limited, an industry-led not-for-profit that is focused on growing a share of Australian food in the global marketplace by sharing knowledge, building capacity and creating connections.
Recognised last week in Parliament, the CCFA will use the funding to support more start-ups, facilitate training and best-practice knowledge sharing, fund innovation and firm up the region’s position as a thriving food basin.
