With the help of extensive and thoughtful feedback received through consultation with UON staff, across all disciplines and campuses, as well as other key stakeholders, we have refined the draft New Futures Strategic Plan. It is now 90 - 95% complete.

The University of Newcastle (UON) has been awarded Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Project funding to research the economic and cultural value of Australian music exports.

Newcastle Law School PhD candidate Dakshina Chandra has been shortlisted as an Amplify Bright Sparks finalist.

Dr Ashish Malik has co-authored or edited three books, which were launched recently. The National Human Resource Development Network in Bengaluru, India hosted the event. Bengaluru is the IT capital of India, which is fitting as two of the three books focus on the Indian IT industry.

The Faculty of Business and Law has launched the Lucy Mentoring Program on the Central Coast.

The Lucy Mentoring Program for 2015 has officially commenced.  The participating mentors and student mentees had the opportunity to meet for the first time during Session 1, which was held at the Hunter Design School.

The annual Finance Research Workshop was held on the 28th and 29th of May. As part of the University's C50 celebrations, the Faculty's discipline of Accounting and Finance organised a special workshop, 'Back to Newcastle Day'.
