The people of Callaghan have spoken and we're pleased to announce the following food, beverage and retail outlets as the winners of the 2015 Campus Choice Awards.

The Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment has celebrated UON's 50th year with a black and gold themed Gala Dinner.

Professor Phil Hansbro has been awarded more than $720,000 in NHMRC Project Grant funding commencing in 2016 for his research project Role and potential for therapeutic targeting of dysfunction, oxidative stress and altered metabolism in mitochondria in the pathogenesis of COPD.

Global Innovation Chairs were introduced as a key element of the NeW Directions Research and Innovation Strategic Plan and were established as part of a suite of initiatives aimed at enhancing our global research performance and reputation.

Professor Dr Shin-Chan Han, Professor Dr William Featherstone and Assistant Professor Nicholas Schmerr been awarded $393,000 in ARC Discovery Project funding commencing in 2016 for their research project Lunar crustal structure from high-res gravity, topography, and seismic data.

Professor Dennis Foley has been awarded $112,000 in ARC Discovery Indigenous funding commencing in 2016 for this research project Aboriginal Economic Development: Impact of Indigenous Chambers Commerce.

Dr Patrick Tang has been awarded $290,000 in ARC Discovery Project funding commencing in 2016 for his research project Development of structural-functional integrated concrete.

Professor Mark Jones, Dr Kenneth Williams, Dr Wei Chen, Professor George Klinzing and Professor William Clark been awarded $405,000 in ARC Discovery Project funding commencing in 2016 for their research project Modelling of Slug Pneumatic Conveying with an In-situ Microprobe Sensor.

Professor Graeme Murch, Professor Irina Belova,  Professor Dr Andreas Meyer and Professor Zi-Kui Liu have been awarded $325,000 in ARC Discovery Project funding commencing in 2016 for their research project Investigation of Thermotransport in Liquid Metal Alloys.

Associate Professor Michael Stockenhuber and Professor Adesoji Adesina have been awarded $320,000 in ARC Discovery Project funding commencing in 2016 for their research project A novel route to produce olefin feedstock for Australia.

Dr Ami Eidels, Dr Daniel Little and Professor James Townsend have been awarded $224,000 in ARC Discovery Project funding commencing in 2016 for their research project Learning from our mistakes: How and when complex decisions fail.

Associate Professor Andrew Fleming, Professor Rob Atkin, Professor Erica Wanless, Dr Stuart Prescott, Professor Robert Melchers, Dr John Holdsworth, Dr Patrick Cullen and Associate Professor Patrick Spicer have been awarded $440,000 in ARC Linkage Infrastructure, Equipment and Facilities (LIEF) funding commencing in 2016 for a Facility for Nanometer Scale Microscopy, Characterization, and Fabrication.
