        Internet archive sites
Internet archive sites use a cached (‘snapshot’) version of web content that was captured on a particular date and time. These sites can provide access to online materials that would otherwise no longer be accessible, and are useful for reference and reading lists where working links need to be provided.
The guide to Internet Archive Sites (PDF) works through an example resource using Trove (from the National Library of Australia) and the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine.
A note on 'The Internet Archive' (archive.org)
While the cached web content from the Wayback Machine is allowed under copyright legislation, other areas of The Internet Archive may provide access to materials considered to be infringing by the copyright owners. Check whether material you are reusing is out of copyright and/or read any copyright information provided. Have a question? Contact the Copyright Advisor
