Collaborative Art Project

Collaborative Art Project

The Parray Yayirri mural is a collaborative artwork completed in 2021. Students and staff came together in a series of workshops that provided a supportive learning opportunity for staff and students to engage in cultural sharing and learning of Indigenous knowledges around the protection and care of Country.  Guided by University Gallery staff and student interns, the workshops followed the format first initiated by Aunty Bronwyn Chambers at the Ourimbah Campus.

The artwork symbolises the relationships our staff and students have with Country, especially the Callaghan campus and incorporates themes of bush tucker and native flora and fauna. Participants created elements of the design, which was then transformed into one artwork by Nicole Chaffey and Anna Rolfe.
