About our Library
The University Library plays a pivotal role in supporting students and academic staff by providing access to high quality information resources, tailored programs of student and researcher support, and a first-class learning environment. Through our Special Collections team, we also provide the vital link between the history of our regions and our communities.
As our operating environment is continually changing, impacting the way the library contributes, partners, and evolves—our strategic plan Your Future Library: 2020-2025 sets our current direction to ensure we are adapting to the needs of our community.
Our vision
Our students and staff will succeed in their chosen futures and make a lifelong connection to learning.
Our mission
We will enable our community to flourish through people-centred environments, access to knowledge, expertise, and opportunities.
Our values in action
Our values align with those of the University and set the standard we expect of ourselves and how we deliver our services.
- Equity (access and success for all)
- Excellence (in all we do)
- Engagement (strong connections with our partners)
- Sustainability (environment, resources, and finances)
Our highly trained team deliver exceptional client services in person and online, underpinned by our Client Charter.
The Library plays a significant role in supporting students and enhancing their development as ‘life ready graduates’. The Students as Partners Framework ensures we partner with students as co-creators to deliver our services as part of an integrated Library team.
Our Organisation
The University Library is run by the University Librarian and Library Leadership Team.
