Language and learning support
We aim to build access, participation and success for our students. A key part of this is the language and academic support we offer throughout your studies.
There are several formal and informal support services and programs which provide international students with the opportunity to practice, and build confidence in, their English language skills.
Learning Development offers a range of programs for international students.
Learning Advisers who specialise in English run workshops in:
- Grammar and pronunciation
- Speaking and listening
- Reading and writing
The Diagnostic Academic English Tool (DAELT) is an online assessment that allows students to self-diagnose their academic English skills.
Learning Development also helps students with academic skills, maths support and individual consultations.
Sydney English corner
Facilitated by the International Student Advisor, the program occurs weekly and involves international students practicing their English in a social space with other students. Morning tea will be supplied and each week you will have the opportunity to meet and talk to different students.
