Innovation in action

The University of Newcastle continues to be a proud supporter of the Hunter Innovation Festival and in 2018 we are pleased to host the University of Newcastle - Innovation in Action panel event.

This event brings together an esteemed panel who are innovators in their own area of expertise and will speak about their career and showcase how innovation has played a pivotal role in their field of expertise. One of the key areas of focus that will be explored is the interplay between marketing and innovation in the growth of new business, enterprise or endeavour.

The event will be facilitated by Professor Kevin Hall, Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Innovation, and will be held at the University of Newcastle’s recently opened NeW Space Campus - a $95 million landmark education precinct in the heart of Newcastle's central business district.

The panel discussion will be approximately one hour in duration from 6pm (doors open from 5.30pm), will be followed by drinks and canapés and the opportunity to mingle with panelists and attendees (7pm - 7.30pm). The event is free and is open to the community.

The Hunter Innovation Festival (7th – 12th 2018) is a not-for-profit initiative which aims to inspire a culture of innovation in Australian businesses, industries and the communities through a series of seminars, presentations and workshops.

The Festival is in its fifth year and each year the University of Newcastle hosts an event which profiles successful entrepreneurs and innovators working in and with our community. Previous panel events have been very well attended and are intended to be light-hearted, informative and interactive.

Who should attend

The event is open to the community and attendance is generally a mixture of academics, the business, industry and innovation community.  The audience this year is capped to 80 people.

Tickets are free but bookings essential - book here.
