University of Newcastle & Pusan National University
A strategic partnership
The University of Newcastle and Pusan National University have partnered with the aim of creating new avenues for collaboration.

Our partnership
The partnership between the University of Newcastle and Pusan National University reflects a long-standing and evolving collaboration, built over more than 15 years of engagement across research, education, and industry. Formalised as a strategic partnership, it is designed to deepen cooperation and create new avenues for joint activity across both institutions.
This partnership is brought to life through a strong focus on clean energy and advanced technologies, including the establishment of collaborative research initiatives such as the Australia Korea Green Ammonia research centre. Working alongside industry partners, including the Port of Newcastle, the collaboration integrates research, education, and commercialisation to address global challenges in sustainability and energy transition.
Beyond research, the partnership continues to expand into areas such as engineering and teacher education, supported by active delegation exchanges, joint programs, and academic engagement. It represents a partnership in action, where long-term relationships, shared expertise, and industry connections come together to deliver real-world impact across both Australia and the Republic of Korea.
