With a history of over 15 years of collaboration, the University of Newcastle and Pusan National University are excited to create additional avenues for collaboration through the development and formalisation of a strategic partnership.
Education and Engineering were their two key areas of interest for discussion. The visit provided an opportunity for PNU Education faculty staff Professor Nam and Professor Sang-mi to visit Macquarie College and engage with teachers on classroom practice and communication. They also visited our own School of Education and witnessed a demonstration of the SIM Lab and a session of SIM Teach. On the Engineering side, and with a specific focus on our existing Green Energy Collaboration, President Cha and Professor Chang and Professor Park had engaging interactions at NIER, GICAN - Centre for Advanced Nanomaterials, met with the Plasma Bio-Engineering Group and toured through the NuBots Lab.
The visit culminated in the signing of a Partnership Agreement that continues to shine a bright light on the long standing relationship the two Universities have developed and the future possibilities that are emerging through the Korean government’s Glocal (pronounced G-Local) initiative.
