Become a business law expert
Combining the Bachelor of Business with a Bachelor of Laws (Combined) will open you up to a myriad of career opportunities. Not only will you gain a broad understanding of Australian and global business environments, but you will also develop a strong legal understanding and the ability to apply logical reasoning which can be used within various business settings.
You will have hands-on experience with opportunities to work on real cases, while gaining essential courtroom experience. This degree is a combined program meaning you will gain two qualifications in only five years of study.

Course overview
Within the combined degree program, students study a combination of Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) courses over a period of five years full-time. On completion of the first three years students will have completed all the courses required for the Bachelor of Business degree. In the final two years of the combined degree program students complete the requirements for the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and may enrol in these two years on a less than full time basis.
Students completing this combined degree program become specialists in Business and meet the academic requirements to practice law in NSW. However, students wishing to practice law must also complete postgraduate professional training approved by the Legal Profession Admission Board. Alternatively, students completing this degree may apply for entry to the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) /Diploma of Legal Practice Program - see separate handbook entry - which allows immediate admission to legal practice on graduation.
Domestic students who commence full time in Semester 2 should expect to complete the program in a minimum 5.5 years.

Career-ready placements
Law students complete the first 105 hours of required supervised clinical legal experience under the supervision of solicitors from our School. School staff also assist to arrange external placements to make up the remaining 180 hours required to qualify to practise as a lawyer. The Bachelor of Business integrates opportunities for you to gain national and international workplace experience.
