Format
This year’s event has been designed to offer greater opportunities to mingle and network with your colleagues. The event starts at 3:30pm at the McMullin Lawn ‘Place Maker’, with food trucks, bar, and entertainment. Picnic rugs, dining tables and bar seating will be available.
The ceremony will take place in The Great Hall and we ask that you’re seated from 4:15pm for a 4:30pm start – please note there will be no allocated seating. If you’d like to sit with colleagues, please arrange this before being seated.
We’ll take a 1 hour break at 5:30pm, allowing dining and mingling with colleagues before formalities resume around 6:30pm.
The ceremony formalities will finish at 7:45pm. The entertainment, food trucks and bar will remain open till 8:30pm for those who are feeling celebratory.
If you are a finalist in an individual category, or you are being acknowledged for length of service, you are welcome to bring a +1. This could be a family member (children are welcome, but please consider that this is a licensed event), friend, manager, team member or the colleague who nominated you.
If you are a finalist as part of a team, we ask that you celebrate with your team members and your head of School/Unit who will also be invited to the event.
Smart casual - you can come straight from work or if you want to change into something more festive you are welcome to do so. Please consider footwear appropriate to an indoor/ outdoor setting.
Yes. Cloak room facilities will be available in The Great Hall.
Yes. You will be notified of any changes to the event via email.
Food and Drink
We will have four food trucks and a bar at this year’s event serving a variety of cuisines, such as pizza, Mexican, gelato and more. All vendors will offer gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options.
You will be asked to detail any food allergies or special dietary requirements when you RSVP to the formal invitation that will be sent to you. The Event Coordinator will then contact you directly to arrange a meal that meets your requirements.
No. You can choose a meal from any of the food trucks, as well as a dessert. However, if we are providing you with a special dietary meal, this will be available at a sign-posted collection point and will have your name on it.
We will be providing non-alcoholic drink options at the bar. These options will be non-alcoholic wine, non-alcoholic beer, various soft drinks and cold water.
Accessibility and First Aid
You will be asked to detail any accessibility requirements when you RSVP to the formal invitation that will be sent to you later this week. The Event Coordinator will then contact you directly to discuss your requirements.
An accessible toilet is available at The Great Hall.
The Purdue Room in The Great Hall will be set up as a chill zone. Feel free to retreat to that space whenever you need to. There will be signs around the event to direct you to The Purdue Room.
A first aid room will also be available at The Great Hall.
No. Children will need to stay with a responsible adult at all times.
Yes. A private area in The Great Hall will be designated as a parenting room, there will be ushers and event signs directing you to this room.
Mosquito coils will be placed around the McMullin Lawn, the entrance to The Great Hall and the Placemaker. Spray repellent will be placed in accessible locations; the bar and the bathrooms for guests to use at their own discretion.
A first aid room will also be available at The Great Hall.
Parking
Parking station P1 & P2 is the closest carpark to the McMullin Lawn where the event will be held. P1 & P2 is paid parking between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours, parking is free however you must adhere to the carpark signage and traffic and parking rules.
Winners
You will be invited onto stage to accept your trophy from the Vice-Chancellor and be photographed. You will also have the opportunity to say a few words, if you wish to. A member of staff will hand you your certificate as you leave the stage.
Winners will be published on the website and posted to the Loop SharePoint site on Wednesday 11 December.
