We are now accepting papers for the 24th Biennial Conference on Balkan and South Slavic Linguistics, Literature and Folklore to be held at the University of Newcastle, Australia, 20-23 May 2026. Visit our Call for Papers website to submit your abstract.

The conference will be held outside of North America for the very first time hosted by the University of Newcastle in the vibrant city of Newcastle, New South Wales. Newcastle is home to sizeable communities with roots in the Balkans and is just over two hours from Sydney. It is situated on Australia’s east coast.

About the Conference
Our conference will take place May 20-23, 2026 and will feature a rich program of presentations, thematic panels, and social opportunities—all designed to highlight the complexities of the Balkan region’s past, present, and future.
