Building the economies of the future

Students at Newcastle Business School benefit from a curriculum which is international in focus, and challenges them to understand and question the global economy and society of which they are part.

Our Vision

To be a research focused, externally engaged, interdisciplinary and socially responsible business school. To achieve this we aim to; (1) grow our international research reputation; (2) focus on impact, with a particular emphasis on social impact; (3) increase our interdisciplinarity to differentiate ourselves; and (4) strive to be innovative across research, teaching and engagement.

Our Mission

Our mission is to develop future business leaders who will create economic prosperity, social impact and raise awareness of sustainability issues in the communities that we serve. To achieve our mission, we will:

  • provide an innovative and inclusive business education.
  • develop entrepreneurial, technologically adept, and data conscious graduates.
  • cultivate and grow a vibrant environment that fosters excellence, sustainability, and social justice.

Acknowledgement of Country

The Newcastle Business School would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional owners of the lands on which they are situated on, the Awabakal and Worimi peoples.

It is upon their ancestral lands that the University of Newcastle and NUspace is located. As we share our own knowledge, teaching and learning within the Newcastle Business School may we also pay respect to the knowledge embedded forever within Custodianship of Country.

We extend this respect to the Awabakal and Worimi Elders, past and present and to any First Nations people who visit, work or learn in this space.
