Ticketed Parking (CellOPark)

If you are visiting the campus for the day, there are a couple of options available to you for parking on our campus. University campuses are operated as restricted parking areas and a parking permit is required. For longer term parking, check out if you are eligible for a vPermit.

Our digital parking app - CellOPark

The University has partnered with CellOPark to offer a digital payment method for casual parking at Callaghan Campus. Skip the queue, enjoy a paperless option, pay from the convenience of your device without having to walk to a ticket machine!

CellOPark User Guide

Ticket machines

Ticket machines are an alternate payment option and are located in major car park areas at convenient locations - see the ticket machine map below for more information. The ticket machines take coin and credit cards. You will need your vehicle license plate number to get a ticket.

From July, our current ticket machines will be replaced (and some ticket machines removed) due to the success of our digital parking app, CellOPark. The current machines will cease operation at COB on Friday 28th June & the new machines will be installed in the following week.  Ticket machine locations can be found on MazeMaps.

No. CellOPark is an additional payment method option. The parking ticket machines will remain in use for those who prefer this payment method.

No. CellOPark is a paperless parking payment method. Just make sure you have entered your vehicle registration correctly in the app or selected the correct vehicle if you have multiple vehicles listed – by doing this you will avoid the risk of a fine.

Yes, it is very important. Parking time limits and rates vary around Callaghan Campus. Entering a wrong parking zone number may result in you being charged incorrectly, or even get fined for not paying according to the right zone. Parking enforcement officers check your vehicle registration to make sure you paid for the correct zone for your profile.

Look out for signage in car parks with the seven digit zone number and QR code. Or, if you have location services switched on for CellOPark on your mobile, the app will help you identify your correct zone number.

Parking officers have either a hand-held device or a car mounted device that enables them to check in real time if the vehicle is currently using the system to pay for parking in that zone.

This feature allows you to start your parking session by simply scanning the QR code on the signage in car parks. Simply launch the app, click the ‘scan QR code’ button, and aim your mobile’s camera at the QR until it fits the frame. You will hear a beep when the QR code has successfully scanned and then you can start your parking session in that zone.

Yes. If you have purchased all-day parking, you can leave campus and return to the same zone or a different zone, provided you are still parking in the appropriate bay according to user type.

Check your parking history on your CellOPark account and compare your parking fine details with the parking transaction. If the details match and your parking was paid for (meaning that during the time you got a fine you had a valid paid session) you can print your transaction history as part of your evidence for Revenue NSW. Contact Revenue NSW using the contact details on the back of the fine for more information.

However, if the details do not match then it is likely that you selected the wrong vehicle, entered your registration incorrectly, or have not confirmed for session to start.

All parking sessions are automatically limited by time. The time limit is determined by the zone you selected. If you paid for all-day parking for example, your parking will automatically expire at 5:30pm. Once a parking session has automatically ended, there is no need for you to do anything.

No, all you need is a valid University ID which you should enter in the unique field when registering e.g. C1234567 if you are a student, and abc123 if you are a staff member. The system will automatically validate the number you entered against the University database and will grant you the appropriate permission level.

You can log in to your online personal account and activate or terminate your parking sessions in the Live Parking page from any internet connected device (computer, tablet, phone etc.).
