Allies in gynaecological research

Thursday, 30 March 2023

For the team methodically researching how ovarian cancer and other female reproductive conditions develop, many generous allies are helping to make important progress against these silent killers.

Your generous donations to fund research at the Global Centre for Gynaecological Diseases are helping to explore new treatments and raise awareness about female reproductive diseases that will translate directly to saving lives.

Cancer researcher and Director of the Global Centre for Gynaecological Diseases Professor Pradeep Tanwar and his team spend their days searching for answers regarding how some of the deadliest cancers among women develop and spread. But they do not act alone. In recent years, kind donors through the University to Professor Tanwar’s research have pledged more than $7 million to advance clinical care and outcomes for women and their families.

Thanks to your generosity, this understudied area of women’s health is receiving vital support to translate discoveries from the lab into targeted therapies that will improve clinical outcomes for women experiencing a range of health problems from pelvic pain to cancers.

With your generous support for our research we are working towards more clinically-informed diagnostic testing and treatments that are essential for women’s health. Your support means we can continue searching for answers and raise awareness about female reproductive tract cancers that will translate directly to saving lives.”

Professor Tanwar’s work is focused on transforming the way gynaecological diseases are prevented, treated and cured. These are complex puzzles to solve, and cancers of the reproductive tract are notoriously illusive and often diagnosed in later stages. Yet Professor Tanwar’s team has already made major inroads in understanding the normal functioning of the female reproductive tract, which also helps us understand what is going wrong with the system that leads to disease. Your support is helping to continue this vital search for answers.

Your generous support is saving lives

Thank you to everyone who donates to Professor Pradeep Tanwar’s ovarian cancer research.
