Social work

Overview

The Bachelor of Social Work program sits in the School of Humanities and Social Science within the Faculty of Education and Arts. Many aspects of the job of being a social worker are related to health and health care in the context of social well-being and there is an ongoing need for social workers in regional, rural and remote locations. Therefore, the UoNDRH supports social work students who are interested to take a rural placement within the region.

Placement Options

Students with an interest in rural practice experience in social work should contact the program of the social work degree for information about what sites are available for placement with the UoNDRH region. Students on placement in the region may be eligible for subsidised accommodation and other forms of support.

Program Contact

The UoNDRH does not employ an academic staff member in social work; however, general enquiries about rural placement options in the UoNDRH region should be directed to the School of Humanities and Social Science in the first instance (see below), with the request to direct your enquiry to the placement coordinator for the Bachelor of Social Work program.
