Research contribution

Newcastle Law School researchers are frequent contributors to discourse about justice reform. Their research is disseminated through conventional academic media such as books and journal articles, as well as through social media, media articles (in The Conversation, Newcastle Herald, Sydney Morning Herald, and The Age), and the provision of submissions and expert evidence to government inquiries.

The quality of our School’s research has been recognised through grants of prestigious funding by the Australian Research Council, as well as a number of government and private sector research grants.

Each year, Newcastle Law School runs a number of research events, including symposia, professional education, and public lectures. We host the annual Sir Ninian Stephen Lecture, and the Social Justice and Human Rights Lecture Series.

Our staff are also members of boards and professional associations and are frequently invited to speak at industry events about their research.
