Building a restorative community
Since 2016, Student Living have worked to create a restorative community by empowering student leaders, Residential Mentors (RMs), to develop communication skills and build healthy relationships within the community.
Each year over 70 RMs are trained to form Connection Circles. The RMs use these Circles in engagement with their residents, assisting in establishing healthy relationships, resolving conflict and managing expectations.
Student living project
The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
