The Ma & Morley Scholarship Program is a transformative experience offered to students of the University of Newcastle who want to change the world.

The program aims to inspire, educate and cultivate the next generation of globally aware and socially conscious Australian leaders and is only made possible by a generous $20 million US philanthropic commitment by the Jack Ma Foundation.

There are a total of 20 scholarships available for new students and 10 scholarships available for continuing students per year under the Ma & Morley Scholarship Program. Scholarships provide opportunity for Indigenous students, students with educational disadvantage, Academic Excellence, and immersion programs for continuing students.

When applying please indicate which categories of Ma & Morley Scholarships you wish to be considered for. The one application will be considered for each category, however only one offer can be made.

Applicable to: equity, educational disadvantage, financial disadvantage, academic achievement, Indigenous Australian, long term medical condition/disability or ongoing effects of abuse, Refugee status, regional and remote disadvantage, enabling, travel, part-time.

Benefit

Up to $75,000 in financial assistance over the course of your degree.

Benefit of $10,000 to $15,000 each year over duration of degree for new students, and a $6,000 one off payment for continuing students.


Selection

Selection of the scholar will be on the basis of assessment of the application and supporting documents against the eligibility criteria. An interview process will follow for short listed candidates.
