As environmental, social, economic, and political challenges intensify, we bring people together. We co-create solutions that are inclusive and grounded in both community and Country. Through strong relationships, we help justice-focused scholarship flourish.
Why living places matter
There is an urgent need for research that informs both policy and community action for environmental and spatial justice. We are uniquely positioned to meet this need. We work through a collaborative, integrative, and interdisciplinary approach. We focus on understanding the connections between the natural environment and human practices.
We have four core research areas:

Our action-oriented approach prioritises co-produced knowledge and meaningful partnerships. This ensures that our work is not only innovative but also relevant and responsive. We contribute to the University's broader goals of promoting wellbeing, fostering belonging, supporting sustainable practices, and strengthening communities.
