Sustainable Food Choices on Campus

Our University provides sustainable food choices for all on campus, including vegetarian and vegan options.

Across our Callaghan, Newcastle City, and Central Coast campuses, we are committed to offering food that supports health, affordability, and environmental sustainability. This commitment is reflected in the range of food outlets, the diversity of menu options, and the values upheld by our food retailers.

2024 Key Highlights of Our Sustainable Food Offerings:

  • Wide variety of food outlets:
Our campuses feature a diverse mix of cafes, restaurants, and bars that cater to a broad range of dietary preferences and needs.
  • Sustainability focus:
Most of our food providers actively work to reduce environmental impact by:
    1. Avoiding single-use plastics
    2. Using sustainable and compostable packaging
    3. Sourcing ingredients locally where possible
  • Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available at all major outlets:
These options are clearly labelled and widely accessible.
