UON Presence in the Upper Hunter
The strategy behind the development of integrated research and education programs at UON Upper Hunter is aligned to the strategic objectives of the University’s NeW Futures Strategic Plan.
Increasing the University of Newcastle’s physical presence in the Upper Hunter will go far to deliver on the University’s 2025 strategic vision:
- It will service and support the economic transition of a resource-intensive region driven by innovation.
- It will attract new research funding and enable the delivery of new integrated research and training through short courses and training programs.
- It will bring us closer geographically to one of Australia’s most significant regions of economic activity for resources, energy and agriculture.
The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
