Entries for 2026 Jacob Neale Jazz Awards are now open
Applications are open for this year's Jazz awards, this year's competition features the saxophone.
The Jacob Neale Jazz Awards are presented by Newcastle Conservatorium of Music in collaboration with the Newcastle Improvised Music Association (NIMA), Adamstown Arts and the Newcastle and Hunter Jazz Club. Jacob’s musical family have created these awards to provide an opportunity for the next generation of jazz artists to thrive in a music career, and to honour Jacob’s ability to inspire with his teaching, mentoring, original compositions and incredible ability to entertain.

The selected contestants will then perform at the Jazz Awards Night in front of a live audience and board of judges. This year’s prizes are $5000 for 1st prize, $2000 for 2nd prize and a Regional Prize worth $500.
Entries close at 11:59pm Sunday 21st June 2026.
