Institute for Regional Futures to collaborate with councils to ready the region for international airport
The international airport for the Hunter will open next year and is projected to generate 4,400 full time jobs and deliver $12.7 billion into the regional economy. With greater access to global markets, the region is poised to capitalise on new opportunities in freight and tourism.
The Institute for Regional Futures and the University of Newcastle are excited to collaborate with the Hunter's 10 local councils through the Hunter Joint Organisation, and with industry, business and the community to ready the region for this game-changer.
