Alumni to inspire future students at Open Day
Future students will be able to connect with those working in their field of interest at this year's Central Coast Open Day.
The Inspire Lounge will house UON alumni turned future-student mentors who will give real-world insights on where a degree at UON can take you.
Amongst the mentors will be Peter Asvestas, Bachelor of Education (Secondary) / Bachelor of Health and Physical Education alumni who now works as a Physical Education teacher at Kurri Kurri High School.
Peter encourages future students to see the day as an opportunity for discovery. "Open Day is good for discovering a potential interest that you might have, even something unexpected." he said.
For those with their heart set on a particular degree or study area, Open Day also provides a chance to see the campus and connect with educators in that field.
"You can meet new people, walk around and explore, and meet alumni who have been quite successful in their area" Peter said.
Central Coast Open Day will take place at the University of Newcastle’s Central Coast campus on Saturday the 4th of August.
