Using generative AI for research

The Copyright for generative AI page includes options around the potential use of copyright materials with genAI tools related to research.

This includes potential reliance on:

publisher subscription agreements,
Creative Commons licensing, and
fair dealing exceptions.

Note that there are limitations around uploading University-owned materials. Using data-secure systems can also be key, especially for your own outputs - see the Using copyright materials with genAI section on the genAI page for more.
