The Young Tall Poppy Science Awards are a prestigious annual award that aim to recognise the achievements of Australia’s outstanding young scientific researchers and communicators. Nominations for the 2018 round opened on Monday 26 February and will close on Monday the 9th of April.
Camille Thomson, General Manager of the Tall Poppy campaign, will visit Newcastle to run two information sessions for potential Young Tall Poppy nominees.
UON Researchers have previously seen success with these awards: 2015 - Dr Nikola Bowden; 2016 - Dr Adam Collison, Dr Susan Hua and Dr Tracy Burrows (who was awarded the overall NSW Young Tall Poppy for 2016); 2017 - Dr Emma Beckett.
If you are interested in applying this year or in future years, these sessions will provide information on the Awards, the nomination process and the experience of winners.
As well as a presentation from Camille Thomson, UON's successful nominee from last year, Dr Emma Beckett, will attend the sessions to answer questions and provide feedback.
