Startup Stories - Linda Bergskas (Visionise)
Linda Bergskas
Raised in Norway, Linda Bergskas flew to Australia in 2001 to complete her degree in graphic design at the University of Newcastle. After only a few days of being here, she knew she wanted to make her home in Newcastle. And so, with her degree and a love for fashion, in 2005 Linda opened up fashion boutique Guanabana Designs on Darby Street.
Linda’s Guanabana label began to gain traction and it wasn’t long before she was establishing a small manufacturing factory in Bali. Guanabana has continued to grow and the ‘boho coastal’ label is now stocked in over 200 stores nationally and internationally. Having exited Guanabana, Linda looked to both, apply her rich knowledge of fashion and design, and support other emerging fashion entrepreneurs. And so Visionise was born.
Linda is now assisting startups and SMEs in fashion conceptualise their ideas, work through a business model and designs, and set them up for offshore bulk production. Join us at Startup Stories and hear this UON alumna’s impressive story and how she’s putting Newcastle on the map for fashion.

About Startup Stories
Startup Stories takes place every Thursday from 8am at the University of Newcastle's coworking space I2N Hub Hunter Street. Startup founders talk candidly about their experience as an entrepreneur and business owner – the highs, the lows, the wins, the mistakes, the whole enchilada. Startup Stories provides real-life examples of the different stages of the startup journey, creating a forum for startups to share and learn but also for the community to see tangible evidence of entrepreneurship making a difference in our region. #i2nStartupStories
