Startup Stories - Jacqueline Garrett (GGWP Academy)
Jacqueline Garrett
After 20 years in management roles and an exit from her previous venture, Jacqueline found herself supporting her 9-year-old son compete at his first esport world championship. She quickly realised that her marketing and communications background helped him immensely when signing to top tier esport teams and attracting sponsors. It was this that spurred Jacqueline to found GGWP Academy, an e-learning and influencer marketplace platform for esport and global gaming.
GGWP Academy helps gamers enhance monetisation and engagement in content creation through its iOS and Android apps. The platform teaches players an array of lessons ranging from branding to social media management, to build an audience and make money.
Jacqueline and her team have gone from strength to strength, raising their pre-seed round earlier this year, and entering Australian accelerator Startmate bringing total funding to $425k. And despite launching in 2020, the team have already secured a partnership with global firm Logitech as their Educational Partner, supporting the GGWP Academy community in their gaming-career pathways.
Join us for Startup Stories and hear from this local superstar as she shares her rapid journey founding GGWP Academy and what’s next on their exciting trajectory.
