Startup Stories -Dan Farthing (KegIT)

This event was held on Thursday 6 September 2018

Dan Farthing

Serial entrepreneur and Newcastle local, Dan Farthing, is passionate about how technology can enable small business to be scalable, efficient and continually growing. Dan has spent 15 years solving technological problems for Australasian SME’s, with a more recent focus on inventory management systems into highly scalable online businesses, coffee roasters, and craft breweries. The latter of those industries opening up his most recent startup, KegIT.

Having spent time with brewers and indulging his love of craft beer, Dan realised a large hole in these companies’ processes when it came to keeping and tracking kegs, with evidence suggesting brewers lose up to 10 percent of their kegs annually at a cost of up to $10,000. KegIT allows craft brewers to scan and track their kegs and even monitor their temperatures to ensure their unpasteurised beer is not deteriorating on its journey and being served in ideal conditions.

Dan has since taken KegIT through Slingshot’s Lion Unleashed accelerator program to help streamline the platform and scale across Australia. Join us at I2N Hub Hunter Street for this local entrepreneur’s story and hear how he’s helping brewers make awesome beer.

Event is free but bookings essential - book here.

About Startup Stories

Startup Stories takes place every Thursday from 8am at the University of Newcastle's coworking space I2N Hub Hunter Street. Startup founders talk candidly about their experience as an entrepreneur and business owner – the highs, the lows, the wins, the mistakes, the whole enchilada. Startup Stories provides real-life examples of the different stages of the startup journey, creating a forum for startups to share and learn but also for the community to see tangible evidence of entrepreneurship making a difference in our region. #i2nStartupStories
