Professor Maurice van Steensel from Nanyang University in Singapore will host a special lecture on skin research at the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HRMI) on 17 February.

Professor van Steensel is an internationally renowned clinician scientist specialising in genetic skin disorders.

Our skin is the largest organ of our body, and most of us will be affected by skin conditions throughout our lives - from rashes and acne to dermatitis, eczema, hives, shingles and more.

Professor van Steensel's work has led to the development of new drugs to treat a range of common skin diseases.   He is a leading researcher in the new Skin Research Institute of Singapore and is committed to finding insights and treatments that benefit patients in Singapore and the rest of the world.

Through his research, Professor van Steensel and his team have facilitated clinical interventions and designed biologically meaningful assays for compound screening in pharma and personal care sectors..

​​​​​​​In his lecture, Professor van Steensel will share insights from across his 25-year career and his experience working with industry over the past few years in particular.
