Research can lead to new discoveries, innovation and entrepreneurship, industry collaboration and solutions to important real-world challenges.
A research degree can also open doors to a wide range of career opportunities. Research graduates are employed across universities, industry, government, healthcare, technology, business and community sectors, applying advanced research and analytical skills to solve complex challenges and drive innovation.
At the University of Newcastle, over 96% of Higher Degree by Research graduates surveyed in 2024 were in employment, with a median full-time salary of $108,000*.
Whether you are considering research in the final year of your degree or planning your next step after Honours, this event will help you explore where research could take you.
The event will have specific sessions for students from all Schools across the university and will provide an opportunity for students to meet researchers and University staff over networking and light refreshments. We would love you to join us.
