Spotlight on Stroke

The Priority Research Centre for Stroke and Brain Injury would like to invite you to join our network of clinicians and researchers at Spotlight on Stroke - part of the HMRI Seminar Series.
The event has been created in response to feedback from people with stroke who have participated in research studies through our Hunter Stroke Research Volunteer Register. Stroke survivors have been seeking more accessible information about stroke research and a forum in which to share their stories with researchers. They also want to find out more about services and supports in the area.
The afternoon-evening event is targeted at people with stroke and the general community. Presentations will be given by a mix of researchers, clinicians and stroke survivors sharing their experiences both as patients and as research volunteers. There will be two panel discussions on fatigue management, and stress and cognitive function after stroke.
2:00pm to 4:00pm - Seminar 1 (Hear from researchers, stroke specialists and stroke survivors)
4:00pm - 6:00pm - Expo - Meet with us, share your story, or chat with experts! researchers and health services may come and promote their service or work, alongside local service providers, support groups and businesses – please get in touch via Gillian.Mason@newcastle.edu.au or 0438296804 if you’d like some space to set up a stall or would like to hand out flyers etc.
