Funding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
NDIS Protestors
Join Newcastle Law School's Centre for Law and Social Justice for a hybrid panel event, with the opportunity to join in person or online.
Dylan Alcott, Australian of the Year in 2022, during his acceptance speech called for the guaranteed funding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) into the future so that people living with a disability can get the support that they need. In the lead up to the federal election a commitment by the major political parties to appropriate funding of the NDIS is crucial for people living with a disability, their families and carers.
Please join us for an engaging panel discussion with speakers who have first hand experience of the NDIS and engagement with human rights. The panel will discuss topics including the gaps that currently exist in funding, how those gaps might be addressed and the large amount of legal fees being spent by the government in reviewing NDIS decisions.
