The Human Rights of Young People

This event was held on Thursday 4 May 2023

Australia is an outlier as a liberal democracy without a national charter of human rights. Join the Centre for Law and Social Justice and the Human Rights Law Centre for a webinar exploring the problems young people may face realising their human rights. This webinar will elevate the voices of young persons. We will be joined by Lee Carnie, Executive Director of Advocacy at the Foundation for Young Australians, Sahar Ghasemi, asylum seeking person whose study rights were withdrawn soon after university enrolment, Bailey Riley, National President at the National Union of Students, and Caitlin Reiger, Chief Executive Officer at the Human Rights Law Centre. This event endorses the campaign for an Australian Charter of Human Rights.
