Join the Human Rights Law Centre and Centre for Law and Social Justice for an online forum to launch The Right to Education in Australia report. Join us to discuss the right to education, who is missing out on that right in Australia, and what difference a Human Rights Charter wold make to the situation. Everyone should be able to access quality education, regardless of their bank balance or postcode. But this isn’t always the case.

Claire Dudgeon - Lead Author of The Right to Education in Australia report
Arrif Hussein - Arif Hussein joined the Human Rights Law Centre in 2023 as a Senior Lawyer working to strengthen Australia’s human rights framework. Arif has over 8 years’ experience working with refugees and people seeking asylum both in Australia, and with people the Australia government subjected to its offshore processing regime.
Professor Penelope Mathew - Dr Penelope (Pene) Mathew is the President and Human Rights Commissioner, ACT Human Rights Commission. She has worked on human rights issues throughout her career, both as an academic and as a lawyer, working with human rights organizations, NGOs and with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees as an independent expert in refugee law. Dr Mathew was Dean at both Griffith University and The University of Auckland and has held positions at The University of Melbourne, The Australian National University and Michigan Law School.
Sue Tape - Sue Tape (she/her) joined CYDA in 2020 and her work is all about education – early childhood and school. Sue is building an inclusive local community around her family and is excited about the opportunities to share CYDA’s work, connect and be a force for change.
