Professor Liz Thomas from Edge Hill University in the UK will be presenting a lecture on: What works? Facilitating an effective transition into higher education.
This lecture will draw on research evidence from the What works? Student retention and success programme (2008-12) in the UK.
It will also introduce aspects of the second phase of the programme which focusses on implementation and institutional change (2012-16) and current research on independent learning in higher education.
The lecture is being hosted by the English Language and Foundation Studies Centre in conjunction with the Centre of Excellence for Equity in Higher Education.
