Meet your presenters: Nick McNaughton & Ken Mahon
Nick is a highly experienced CEO who has been a successful entrepreneur, mentor, investor and fund manager. Nick started his career in the software industry where he specialised in bringing US vendors into the Asia/Pacific region, and has spent extensive time living and working in Asia. He has also been an angel investor for over two decades. Some of Nick's successes include Soulmates Technology, Zookoda, Vocus (ASX:VOC) & Windlab (ASX:WND). Nick is a veteran of the University IP commercialization field and has reviewed and assessed a wide array of ideas, inventions and discoveries. Through his role as a part-time CEO of ANU Connect Ventures - a $37M seed investment fund (owned by the Australian National University and MTAA Super) - he has invested in companies including Lithicon (Trade sale FEI), InterfereX (Trade sale – NYSE: Dolby), Instaclustr, Liquid Instruments and EpiAxis Therapeutics.
Ken is an experienced professional leader based in Melbourne working in strategic innovation management, new venture creation, and translation and commercialisation of research and innovation. Ken works with a range of early stage ventures as an advisor and has been pivotal in assisting businesses in developing strategy, execution planning and capital raising. His clients include advanced manufacturing, ag tech, Defence and security, cyber security, wealth tech, and immersive technologies businesses. Ken is also a mentor working with accelerator and incubator programs and he is leading the design of venture growth programs for advanced manufacturing and deep technology.
