Indigenous HDR Gathering

Come together with us to celebrate the Indigenous HDR journey, and share knowledge for Indigenous Research!

About this event

As part of the University of Newcastle's HDR Student Festival, we are hosting an Indigenous HDR Gathering at Wollotuka to celebrate Indigenous Higher Degree Research.

Our Indigenous HDR Showcase afternoon is an opportunity to share research knowledge, and network with peers in a relaxed and supportive environment.

We welcome our Indigenous HDR Network students, our non-Indigenous students whose research has an Indigenous focus, our HDR supervisors, Wollotuka and Office of Indigenous Strategy and Leadership staff, as well as prospective HDR students, our community, colleagues, and guests.

The Indigenous HDR Gathering will be held at the The Wollotuka Institute, Birabahn Building, on Wednesday 29 June from 3–7pm.

From 3–5pm there will be a program of presentations and activities, including:

  • Acknowledgement & Welcome / Introduction
  • PhD Journey Presentation
  • 3MT Presentations from HDR Candidates (3MT Comp Heat)
  • Wollotuka Research and Indigenous Methodology Presentation
  • Wollotuka HDR Site Launch
  • Research Poster Displays

From 5–7pm there will be time for food, drinks, discussion, and socialising by the Birabahn fire.
Please join us to celebrate Indigenous Research and the Indigenous HDR journey while enjoying a drink and some delicious food!

This is a free event, but please register here to let us know you are coming along!

Proudly presented by the The Wollotuka Institute, in collaboration with the Indigenous HDR Network, and Graduate Research.
