Indigenous Voice to Parliament

Our University is committed to building on our proud record in Indigenous higher education, innovation and engagement and extending our collaboration and partnerships with Indigenous peoples of our regions and beyond.

Working closely with the University’s Indigenous Strategy and Leadership office we have identified a panel of indigenous leaders from within the university, to discuss the role the university plays in sharing information about the Indigenous Voice to Parliament referendum.

Keynote by Professor John Maynard

Professor John Maynard will show us the history behind our First Nations voice to Parliament and the referendum vote.

Panel Discussion

Hosted by Shahni Wellington, the panel of University of Newcastle's leadership team will discuss the voice to Parliament vote and what it means to them. Sitting on the panel to share their stories will be Nathan Towney, Dr. Ray Kelly, Kathleen Butler and joining them, Professor John Maynard.
