3MT and VYT Finals
Three Minute Thesis written in white box with colourful icons around, with a dark blue background
The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition final is always a highlight of the Higher Degree by Research calendar. We are delighted that this year our finalists will again be presenting their research in front of a live audience.
An 80,000 word PhD thesis would take 9 hours to present. Their time limit... 3 minutes!
Our 13 finalists will explain:
WHAT their research is about
HOW they are conducting their research
WHY their research is important
The winner will walk away with $5,000 towards their research expenses.
This year the University will also hold its first ever Visualise Your Thesis (VYT) competition final. Our VYT finalists have done a fabulous job of presenting their research in 60-second audio-visual explainers, and we look forward to announcing the inaugural champion at the event.
Come along to the Bar on the Hill and be dazzled by the creative talents of our HDR students while enjoying refreshments throughout the evening.
