Building International Research Collaborations
Measures of research success (for individuals, units and universities as a whole) increasingly include international research collaboration. But how can you go about locating appropriate individuals and institutions with which to forge meaningful research partnerships?
In this workshop Professor Lisa Adkins (HaSS); Professor Mel Gray (HaSS); Dr Milena Heinsch (HaSS) and Professor Daniel Dredig (currently a visitor in HaSS/Social Work from the University of North-West Switzerland) will outline some key strategies for building, sustaining and enhancing international research collaborations. From the nitty gritty of writing and publishing with international partners to strategies for applications to overseas research councils this workshop aims to provide practical orientation to building successful international research collaborations and winning funding for international research projects. In addition, it will lay out the key benefits of such collaborations and projects, including capacity building and capability extension.
