23rd Annual Sir Ninian Stephen Lecture

This event was held on Thursday 10 September 2015

Join the local legal community at The Newcastle Law School's 23rd Annual Sir Ninian Stephen Lecture. The Sir Ninian Stephen Lecture was established in 1993 to mark the arrival of the first group of Bachelor of Laws students at the University of Newcastle. It is delivered by an eminent lawyer each academic year.

This year we welcome Professor Neil Rees, the Foundation Professor and Co-Head of the USC Law School at the University of the Sunshine Coast; and Foundation Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Newcastle in 1991.

In light of the University's 50th year celebration, Prof Rees' lecture, titled 'I Look Ahead', will accept the challenge posed by this phrase from the University's emblem and look ahead, venturing his views about the possible state of the law and legal education in 2035.

Please join us to gain an insight into the future of the law.

Light refreshments will be provided after the lecture between 6:00pm and 7:00pm.
