University Mental Health Day
University Mental Health Day
The University of Newcastle joins universities across Australia and New Zealand on Tuesday May 4 2021 to hold the 8th Australia and New Zealand University Mental Health Day (UMHD).
Given the extraordinary global circumstances we now face, the mental health of our higher education staff and students has never been more important. The aim of University Mental Health Day is to bring together our diverse university community to inspire conversations, campaign, take action and create change so that together we can make mental health a university-wide priority and create ongoing, year round change.
This year, we have a number of events taking place over three days:
Tuesday 4 May | 12pm - 1pm
Visit one of our information stalls and chat with our friendly volunteers who will provide information on the support and resources available for maintaining positive mental wellbeing.
Location: Maths Building, Auchmuty Courtyard, Park on the Hill and Engineering
Wednesday 5 May | 12pm - 1.30pm
Enjoy a free BBQ and pick up some info and resources to support your mental health.
Location: NUspace
Thursday 6 May | 12pm - 1pm
Join us for a special forum showcasing mental health promotion interventions being implemented at universities across Australia and New Zealand.
