Do you dread public speaking? You’re not alone! This workshop provides a supportive space to develop the skills you need to present with confidence.
About your presenter
Simon Banks is an International Keynote Speaker, Author & Podcaster on Creativity, Innovation & Design and Recovering Professional Artist. He's delivered 1400+ events across the globe and strives to build a more creative world to enable people and businesses to thrive and live well.

5:30pm - Event registration and networking with light refreshments provided.
6:00pm - Interactive workshop presented by Simon Banks.
What to expect
The workshop is highly interactive, and you will work in small groups is a safe and supportive environment. By participating in this workshop, you will develop confidence, core public speaking skills, and an appreciation for effective public speaking and storytelling.
You will learn how to:
- Craft captivating introductions that grab an audience’s attention
- Connect with your audience by building empathy and understanding
- Play to your strengths to deliver a polished presentation
- Master body language for a powerful presence (and avoid common mistakes!)
- Plan and structure your presentation using the rule of three
- Use stories to your advantage
- Think on your feet and handle impromptu situations with ease
Who can attend?
This event is open to all current students. Student attendees can count this event towards the iLEAD program.
A limited number of places are also available for staff and alumni.
This event is run through the iLEAD program, an initiative of the Careers Service.
