Celebrate Pride at the University of Newcastle
Join us throughout October as we celebrate Newcastle Pride Month and recognise the diversity, strength and contributions of our LGBTIQA+ community. Newcastle Pride Month is an opportunity to come together, foster connection, amplify queer voices, and continue building a more welcoming and inclusive university for everyone.
Across the month, you'll find a range of events featuring storytelling, poetry, panel discussions, research, community conversations and social activities. Whether you're a member of the LGBTIQA+ community, an ally, or simply interested in learning more, there are plenty of opportunities to connect, reflect and celebrate.

LGBTIQA+ Pride Launch

UNSA Guest Lecture with Dr Ellis
Reflect on over 50 years of LGBTQIA+ advocacy, rights and social change with Dr Justin Ellis, exploring the lessons of queer advocacy in NSW and the challenges ahead. Stick around after the lecture for networking and grazing at The Lucky from 7.00pm.

Pride Thrift Collective (Callaghan)
Come along to Pride Thrift Collective for an afternoon of thrifting, a clothing swap, market stalls, creativity and community. Browse pre-loved treasures, get involved in upcycling workshops, enjoy live DJ sets, and get in early to score a free tote bag featuring a winning competition design!
