Autonomy Day 2026
Auto Day 2026 Image
The biggest student festival of the year is back! Autonomy Day is the annual celebration of the University of Newcastle becoming independent from the University of New South Wales in 1965, and it's become a major part of the student experience at the University
Returning to Bar on the Hill this August, Automony Day brings together students from across campus for a full day of music, mates, and memories. From live music, the return of the silent disco, free food, and a few little surprises we have up our sleeves, there's something for everyone.
Round up your mates, meet some new ones, and make the most of Welcome Week at Bar on the Hill.
Join us on Wednesday, August 12th, from 12 pm - 8 pm.
Tickets are available here. Students may only bring 1 x non-student guest each.
- Student $20 (student ID required)
- Non-Student $30 (must be accompanied by a student)
This is an 18+ event, so make sure you bring your student ID and +18 ID!
You will be refused entry if you are intoxicated or wearing clothing with offensive language or imagery. Do not bring alcohol with you or carry it across campus. It will be confiscated.
