Autonomy Day
Text reads: Autonomy Day!
This is the biggest party of the year!
Autonomy Day is the annual celebration of the University of Newcastle becoming independent from the University of New South Wales in 1965, and it's become a major part of the student experience at the University.
We'll be celebrating with three stage areas:
- Bar on the hill lawn - Main Stage featuring Alex Hayes and DJ Panak
- Newcastle's biggest silent disco - inside bar on the hill with multiple DJ Comp finalists
- 21 DJs across the day, live music, glitter and braid bar and free food!
- Chill out zone available
- Prizes available for best dressed on the day, lucky door and best boogie!
There will be a Chill Out Zone next to the Student Services Building with food trucks, music and coffee. It’ll be a quiet area if you need a break (but remember you only have one pass out).
Tickets are available here (students may only bring 1 x non-student guest each):
- First release students tickets $10 + BF (student ID required) until Tuesday, 6th August. Second release $20 + BF
- Non-student $20
- Door open at 10:00am
This is an 18+ event, so make sure you bring your student ID and +18 ID!
You will be refused entry if you are intoxicated or wearing clothing with offensive language or imagery. Do not bring alcohol with you or carry it across campus. It will be confiscated.
