Gender Matters: Designing health promotion approaches to engage men

This event was held on Friday 20 April 2018

Prof Joan L. Bottorff

Dr. Joan L. Bottorff is a visiting Fellow and Professor in the School of Nursing and Director of the Institute for Healthy Living and Chronic Disease Prevention at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. Her research program focuses on developing more inclusive understandings of health behaviours, and the development of gender-sensitive and gender-specific health promotion programs.

Understanding and incorporating men's preferences for and interest in health and wellness topics and activities is necessary for ensuring men are successfully engaged in health promotion programs.

You are invited to attend Dr Joan L. Bottorff's presentation on opportunities and approaches for supporting men’s health through tailored health promotion programs, as well as her insight on men’s responses to these initiatives.
